The following illustrates some examples of the work and projects I have been involved with throughout my
career as an assistant superintendent. All of the photos within each link can be enlarged to see more
detail by clicking directly on the pictures.

Skokie Country Club Tee Construction
The following demonstrates the tee construction process I helped supervise when 8 new tees were built at Skokie Country Club.
We used excavated soil from 2 other course projects (new irrigation system and large drainage installation) as subgrade material
for the tee bases. The tees were then shaped to match our existing rectangular complexes.

Sagamore Club Grow-in Challenges
During the later stages of the grow-in at The Sagamore Club, flooding and inclement weather resulted in extreme wash outs and erosion of late
fall seeding on the front nine of the golf course.

Bunker Rip Edging
In addition to maintaining bunker size and preventing poor ball lies, this ripping of the edges ensures the bunkers
retain their irregular appearance and original shape; which is part of the ongoing preservation of the course’s original design
characteristics.

Nursery Green Regrassing
Nursery greens are used to provide immediate replacement grass for damaged or injured turf on greens, tees, fairways, and other areas, and over time,
need to be regressed or enlarged. The ideal method of growing in a nursery is to propagate aeration cores from existing turf areas to ensure an exact
grass species match.

Tree Management
I've been fortunate to experience various aspects of tree management thus far in my career. Each of the clubs I have worked
at (particularly Myopia, Skokie, and New Haven CC) are very active with tree maintenance and removal programs.

Playing Surface Expansion
Many factors including mowing practices, equipment, time, and limited budgets can contribute to the loss in shape and
shrinking of playing surfaces on greens, tees, and fairways. Unfortunately, this leads to several problems and compromises
the integrity of the golf course.

Course Conditioning
Although it is impossible to judge firmness, speed, and playability through these pictures, I do feel they help to illustrate the high
level of conditioning, detail, and maintenance standards I have helped produce on a consistent basis at all of the clubs I have worked at.
